Score yourself or your employee based on level of skill and accountability from 1 to 9.
Skill Scoring: 1 – 9
Low: 1 – 3
Medium: 4 – 6
High: 7 – 9
Skill Examples
Low:
Doesn’t understand how to research or ask the right questions to get the job done
Delivers work with frequent or obvious mistakes for job duties
Takes longer than expected to finish work and the work finished is low quality
Medium:
Gets stuck on the work because they’re not making decisions or not choosing which information to disregard
Brainstorms solutions but asks you to make the decision
Inconsistent on timing and quality level
You’re never sure how much time you’ll need to put into a project once staff member completes their part
High:
Frequently exceeds your expectations on work product or deliverables
Innovates their work or continuously looks for ways to make work and results better
Their work rarely needs improved once delivered. It is thorough and complete.

Low:
Doesn’t engage in ongoing learning opportunities
Blames others for why they didn’t accomplish work
Goes into “victim mode,” including crying, when you ask about work quality or timeliness

Is consistently engaged in daily work
Sometimes asks to take on additional responsibilities, but doesn’t seem to finish up existing work first
High:
Continuously looks for ways to make themselves or the team better
Asks for professional and personal development, attends, and implements what they’re learning
Takes responsibility for what goes right, wrong, and unexpected
